Y-12 supports the local and regional economy by mentoring small businesses and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) through the Socioeconomic Program Office (SPO).

We hope you will take some time to look over our SPO website and learn about our program. Our SPO In-Reach Program focuses on ensuring that Y-12 organizations know about the capabilities of small businesses and encourages Y-12 staff to make use of those capabilities through subcontracting opportunities. We take our outreach responsibilities seriously as well, ensuring that events, publications, and news releases promote small businesses to the cummunity at large.

Our award-winning Mentor Protégé Program currently has agreements with three HBCUs and five small businesses, and the search for the 2013 class began in February. Read about how to apply.

You can also find information on our site about special events of interest and awards we have received.
