Strategic Goals
The strategic goals of the Y-12 Socioeconomic Program Office are as follows:
- Effectively communicate with Y-12 National Security Complex personnel the objectives and goals of the Socioeconomic Program Office, ultimately educating and training the employees regarding the Socioeconomic Program commitment, expectations, practices and requirements.
- Communicate Y-12's objectives and goals of socioeconomic expectations, requirements and accomplishments to the public. Plan, participate and sponsor forums, conferences and formal associations.
- Maintain a world-class Mentor Protégé Program by assisting the growth and development of small businesses, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and Minority Educational Institutions (MEIs).
- Provide program management expertise that exceeds normal expectations to ensure that the Socioeconomic Program Office is a premier organization for supporting socioeconomic needs, not only to Y‑12 but to the National Nuclear Security Administration Complex as well. Obtain and manage the necessary resources to enhance and implement overall program goals.
- Increase and strengthen alliances with HBCUs and MEIs to enhance their ability to understand and take advantage of their capabilities, to seek work/research opportunities, to identify and obtain external projects, and to provide mentoring to strengthen the universities' fundamental support systems.
