The Y‑12 Employees’ Society (YES) is a nonprofit corporation chartered in August 2001 to enhance morale of Y‑12 employees by organizing recreational, charitable and community service activities. Since that time Y‑12 employees and the community have realized a number of benefits. Examples include:

  • Sporting and recreational events such as annual softball leagues, golf tournaments and whitewater rafting
  • Trips to New York, Biltmore Estates and Harrah's Casino
  • Company picnics and holiday parties
  • Discounts to area vendors and attractions
  • Establishment of the on-site Y‑12 Company Store
  • On-site Weight Watchers at Lunch program for employees
  • Fund raising events to support The Angel Tree, the Mission of Hope, area tornado victims, domestic violence centers and military troops stationed abroad

YES is managed by a board of 12 directors elected annually by the membership. Officers are elected by the board.

Membership is free to all Y‑12 employees, and retirees can join for a fee of $10 per year. Members may participate in any team sports, trips, events, vendor discounts, and activities sponsored by YES with proof of membership. Membership cards are distributed annually. To request a card, report a lost card, or ask for assistance with other YES activities, contact YES.
