Jill Cooley recently joined Y‑12 National Security Complex as a senior technical consultant in Global Security and Strategic Partnerships. Cooley comes to Y‑12 after a 20-year assignment at the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria, where she led a technical division of 70 staff responsible for the development of policies, processes and procedures for safeguards implementation and training for staff and member states.

Cooley holds a B.S. in mathematics and physics and an M.S. in nuclear engineering from the University of Wisconsin. Her areas of expertise include nuclear nonproliferation policy, international safeguards, and arms control and disarmament. She is a fellow of the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management and has received that organization’s distinguished service award.

“We are thrilled to have someone with Jill’s depth and breadth of expertise on our staff,” said Morris Hassler of Global Security and Strategic Partnerships. “Her international experience will be invaluable as we work to broaden Y‑12’s contributions to safeguards and security programs across the globe.”
