2009 Pension Plan Form 5500 Annual Report

The Pension Protection Act (PPA) made a number of changes to disclosing defined benefit plan information to participants. It added a new annual funding notice, deleted the requirement that employers distribute a summary annual report, and added the requirement that employers post information from the IRS Form 5500 (also referred to as the annual report).

Review the pension plan's IRS Form 5500 (.pdf, 2.78 MB), which contains basic plan information and an actuarial report for the period ending December 31, 2009.

Annual Funding Notice for the Retirement Program Plan

The annual funding notice for the Retirement Program Plan for Employees of Certain Employers at the U.S. Department of Energy Facilities at Oak Ridge, Tennessee, includes important funding information about the pension plan. This notice also provides a summary of the plan’s investment policy and rules governing the benefit payments guaranteed by the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), a federal agency. This notice is for the plan year beginning January 1, 2010 and ending December 31, 2010. Review the cover letter (.pdf) and the complete funding notice (.pdf).

If you have questions about the notice or terms therein, try the Funding Notice Frequently Asked Questions or the Glossary.
