Summer Intern Program

The BWXT Y‑12 Summer Student Intern Program is part of BWXT Y‑12's Critical Skills Initiative. Students with an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 or above in the following current critical skill areas will be considered for summer employment:

  • Chemistry,
  • Computer Science,
  • Materials Science,
  • Physics or
  • Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Industrial, Metallurgical, Mechanical, Nuclear or Software).

Positions in other disciplines also may be available.

Students must have completed their freshman year requirements in college and be enrolled for the fall semester to qualify for this program.

You must meet the following criteria:

  • have completed at least the freshman year of college,
  • have a college GPA of 2.8 or above, and
  • be enrolled in college for the fall semester.
