The National Security Technology Center is a Work for Others program that develops, demonstrates and deploys security technologies for national defense.

National Security Technology Center

The National Security Technology Center (NSTC) leverages the collective expertise of the Y-12 National Security Complex to turn security concepts into reality. By tapping into Y‑12's know-how and unique manufacturing capabilities, NSTC develops and deploys innovative security technologies with wide-ranging applications.

For descriptions of the many national security applications being developed by NSTC, see our page on new technologies.

What sorts of security technologies are we talking about? See our capabilities section, which includes a printable fact sheet, for more about what we can do and how we can accomplish it.

For specific examples of security devices currently in development or already deployed, explore the new technologies section. Several of our innovative technologies have received recent media coverage focusing on their ability to improve national security.

The Center is currently expanding its research and development (R&D) role for Homeland Security. For more information about NSTC and its R&D capabilities, or to discuss partnering with us, send email to NSTC.
