As one of the largest employers in the East Tennessee area, the Y-12 National Security Complex takes its role as a good neighbor seriously.

Y-12 Public Tours

The Y‑12 National Security Complex, as part of Oak Ridge’s 2011 Secret City Festival, will be hosting limited tours on our site. The Y‑12 Public Tours will be offered June 18, 2011. Details follow:

  • One-hour tours will begin and end at New Hope Center. The first tour is at 9:00 a.m. and the last at 4:00 p.m. Buses leave every 20 minutes.
  • Experienced tour guides will assist on all tours.
  • Metal check for cameras and cell phone will be conducted at New Hope Center before each tour. Review these entry requirements before you arrive.
  • On the tour you will get to view the Manhattan Project calutron magnets in Building 9731 and experience a site overview from Chestnut Ridge.
  • Online registration for Secret City tours has closed. There will be some seats available the day of the tours on a first come, first served basis.
