Small business achievements recognized

BWXT Y‑12, NNSA and MS Technology Inc. received awards at the 6th Annual DOE Small Business Conference held June 12–15 in Nashville, Tennessee.

BWXT Y‑12 and Oak Ridge–based MS Technology received the DOE Secretarial Mentor-Protégé Teaming Award for their consolidated microwave research and development initiative that established a state-of-the-art microwave prototype center and a laboratory facility to support the world's largest chamber scanning electron microscope.

BWXT Y‑12 was also awarded the NNSA Small Business Achievement Award for the management and operating contractor.

Y‑12's protégé, MS Technology, received the NNSA M&O Small Business Supplier of Excellence Award for a subcontractor. This award recognizes high-performing, regionally based small businesses.

The NNSA Y‑12 Site Office was also recognized at the conference. Assistant Manager for Administration James Martin received an NNSA Program Small Business Innovation Award that recognizes the NNSA program element that develops innovative small business initiatives, policies or programs.
