Richardson named B&W Y-12 Deputy General Manager for Operations

B&W Y‑12 President and General Manager Chuck Spencer has named David Richardson as Deputy General Manager for Operations.

Richardson has 32 years of nuclear operations management experience, which includes significant experience in major engineering/nuclear operations and projects, involving planning, project management, personnel management, and project execution. He most recently served as president of Babcock & Wilcox Shaw Remediation, LLC. He held a number of senior managerial positions at Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL) and Idaho National Laboratory (INL), culminating with an appointment as associate laboratory director for nuclear operations from 2005 until 2008. Richardson served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, including three years as commanding officer of a nuclear submarine.

“Y‑12’s mission work has to be conducted at the highest levels of safety, security and quality, and Dave is the right person for this challenging job,” said Spencer. “He will have responsibility for critical production, engineering and facilities functions that directly support our national security mission. We look forward to having Dave join our team.”

Richardson holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Montana.
