OAK RIDGE, Tenn — Monthly testing of the public notification sirens in Oak Ridge has been rescheduled to Monday, June 2.
Warning sirens are placed around Oak Ridge’s three major sites — the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Y‑12 National Security Complex, and East Tennessee Technology Park. In the unlikely event of an off‑site emergency, sirens will sound to alert area residents.
The sirens are tested the first Wednesday of every month between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The testing has been moved to June 2 to avoid confusion with a Y‑12 emergency exercise taking place on Wednesday, June 4.
