Nuclear and Radiological Field Training Center

A site used for nuclear research in Oak Ridge, Tennessee during the Manhattan Project is now the Y‑12 National Security Complex’s Nuclear and Radiological Field Training Center — the only facility of its kind in the world.

The Center provides world-class nuclear and radiological training in a safe, secure, realistic environment using expert instruction and personnel to serve as observers/evaluators for customer training.

For military and emergency response units that may operate in a nuclear or radiological environment, we provide scenario-driven training that is customized to meet an individual's or team's unique requirements and needs.
