Norris Middle School wins tenth student manufacturing competition

Norris Middle School won first place in the tenth annual “Dream it. Do it.” competition sponsored by the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce and Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS), which manages and operates the Y-12 National Security Complex for the National Nuclear Security Administration.

Future Force “STEMulates” career aspirations in next generation of Y-12ers

What happens when you combine hundreds of high school students, hallways lined with interactive career booths, and a wealth of subject matter experts from all corners of the Y-12 site? According to the Y-12 Future Force program, you get a great success. Attendees from 19 schools across East Tennessee filled the New Hope Center on April 2 for the program’s debut event, Future Force: Introduce a Student to STEM Careers, which was designed to educate the region’s future workforce about the breadth of careers supporting Y‑12’s national security missions.

CNS awards STEM grants to East Tennessee schools

CNS awards STEM grants to Texas Panhandle and East Tennessee schools

Oak Ridge, Tenn.— From hovercrafts and coding to aquaponics and pneumatics, five schools in the Texas Panhandle and five schools in East Tennessee will soon be advancing their educational efforts in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) thanks to grants from Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS), the managing and operating contractor for the Pantex Plant and Y-12 National Security Complex.
