Concrete placements for the base slab of the Main Process Building were completed in February. Nearly 24,000 cubic yards of concrete were used for the slab.

Roof decking and wall panels will be installed on the Mechanical Electrical Building now that structural steel has been placed.

TVA will complete testing and turnover of the substation this summer and it will be fully operational in 2020. The new substation will service both the Y-12 National Security Complex and the Uranium Processing Facility.

The new electrical substation being built by the Tennessee Valley Authority as part of the UPF Project will be significantly more efficient, economical and cost effective to operate.

Concrete placement has begun for the slab of the Salvage and Accountability Building (SAB). When complete, SAB will house waste preparation, decontamination, non-destructive assay and chemical recovery support systems.

In addition to placing concrete, crews are installing rebar and embeds on the west topper slab of the Main Process Building.

Installation of roof decking will begin when the second level steel is complete on the Mechanical Electrical Building, which is scheduled for February.
