Helping Those in Need

Helen Ross McNabb Center’s Military Services Facility Funds were donated in 2016 to support development and operation of the Military Services Facility which fills gaps in mental health services to active military, their family and veterans.

United Way Y‑12 is one of the area’s largest United Way contributors. Through payroll deductions, silent auctions, bake sales and other events, Y‑12 employees worked to raise awareness and dollars for United Way. In 2016, the Y‑12 campaign generated more than $625,000 for United Way.

March of Dimes The Atomic Trades and Labor Council and Y‑12 have been longtime partners in the annual March of Dimes campaign in Anderson, Roane and Loudon counties. In 2016, Y‑12 and the ATLC, working in partnership contributed more than $19,000 to March of Dimes.

Gatlinburg Fire Relief Y‑12 employees, subcontractors, and employees at the Uranium Processing Facility donated bottled water and other necessities and more than $5,000 in cash to help area families affected by the wildfires in the Gatlinburg area. In addition, Consolidated Nuclear Security LLC contributed an additional $5,000 to the effort. Y‑12 firefighters also joined area organizations in battling the fires through mutual aid agreements.
