OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC (CNS), the managing operator of the Y-12 National Security Complex, announced on May 7, 2019, that ARS International, LLC, is the Y-12 Small Business of the Year and Karen Prillhart, as the Y-12 Small Business Advocate.

The announcements were part of a combined ceremony with the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The three organizations honor outstanding small businesses and local leaders annually at the “Celebrate Oak Ridge Business” breakfast at the Double Tree Hotel.

“It is a pleasure to work with ARS International, LLC, because of their outstanding support of the Y-12 National Security Complex mission,” said Lisa Copeland, CNS Y-12 Small Business Program Manager.
She added, “ARS International was challenged with one of Y-12’s unique and complicated requirements and delivered a commitment to safety, quality, and project delivery that was well above CNS expectations.”

ARS International, LLC is an Alaskan Native Corporation, Small Disadvantaged Business, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Aleut Corporation. In 1993, ARS began work in the area of hazardous material remediation, laboratory analysis, and construction/demolition services.

CNS also recognized Karen Prillhart as the CNS Small Business Advocate of the year.

Copeland said Prillhart, in a short period, proved herself as a strong advocate for small business.

“She exhibits an enthusiastic small business attitude that is a very exceptional quality for a buyer working in a fast-paced, deliverable-driven environment,” said Copeland.
